How to Create API Keys on Hata

Modified on Thu, 20 Jun at 4:48 PM

Developing an API enables you to establish connections with Hata's servers using various programming languages. This API facilitates the retrieval of data from Hata, enabling interaction with this data in external applications. Through this interface, you have the ability to access your wallet and transaction information, execute trades, and deposit or withdraw funds within third-party software.

Please note that before creating an API Key, you need first complete identity verification. If you require assistance, you may refer to our article on 'How to Complete Identity Verification on Hata. A step-by-step guide'.

For more details on Hata API, please refer to our Hata documentation.

  • Login into your Hata account and select [Security] under the highlighted icon below.

  • Select [API Keys].

  • Select [Create API Key].

  • Enter the following information:
    • Key Label - Label the name of your API key.
    • Permissions - Set the permissions and access to your Hata account.

  • You may choose to restrict your IP address or set an expiry date for your API key.

Please take note of the IP access restrictions. We recommend choosing [Restrict IP Address] for security reasons.

  • Perform Two-Factor authentication to verify your API key creation.

  • Your API key is now created.

Do not disclose your API Key, Secret Key (HMAC), or Private Key (RSA) to anyone to avoid asset losses. If you forget your Secret Key, you'll need to delete the API and create a new one.

Note:

Only users who have completed Identity Verification can create new API keys.
