How to Create a Hata Business Account

Step 1: Visit the Hata Website 



To start, please visit our website at www.hata.io and click on [Sign Up] to start your Hata Business Account setup. 



Step 2: Sign Up for a Business Account

Sign up for a Corporate account on our Hata platform.



1. Select [Corporate]. Please ensure that you have selected the correct type of account. Once registered, you will not be able to change it.

2a. Enter the required details such as email and password OR;

2b. Sign up with a social account.



Step 3: Confirm your Registration

Once you have entered your email and password, an email shall be sent to the email address that you have used to register your Hata Business Account.



Click on [Verify My Email] in the email that has been sent to the email address that has been used to register your account to confirm your registration with Hata.



Once completed, your Hata Business account has been created, providing you access to a non-verified Hata Business Account.



Step 4: First Time Sign In

After your Hata Business Account has been created, you are required to sign in for the first time and complete several questions before you are given access to an approved Hata Business Account to start trading.



Please proceed to www.hata.io/login and sign in to your Hata Business Account using the email and password that you have previously used to create your account. 



Next, you will be prompted to enter an account approver’s email*. Enter the email address and click [Next] to continue.

*An account approver email is the email in which you will receive important transaction notifications for. 



An email verification code will be sent to your approver email. Please enter the code that has been sent to your email.



Next, please provide your mobile number that will secure your account and provide you with security alerts. Enter your mobile number and click [Next] to continue.



To continue, please select a platform to open your corporate account with:

  1. If you are planning to trade in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR), please select Hata Malaysia (only for corporations based in Malaysia).

  2. If you are planning to trade in United States Dollar (USD), please select Hata Global.


Select the correct platform and click on [Next] to continue.



Step 5: Business Verification

Before you are allowed to perform trades on the Hata platform with your corporate account, you will be required to submit related documents to complete the business verification process.


There are 7 stages to this verification process and required documents includes (but is not limited to):

  1. Certificate of Incorporation.

  2. Register of Directors.

  3. Register of Members (Shareholders).

  4. Particulars of Registered/Business Address.

  5. Proof of Source of Funds

    1. Latest 3 months bank statements.

  6. Proof of Source of Wealth

    1. If investor funds - Cash in bank statements; OR

    2. If income/revenue - Bank statements, financial statements; OR

    3. Company Tax Returns/Statement.

  7. Proof of Address (under company name)

    1. Bank statement; OR

    2. Utility bill; OR

    3. Lease agreement.

  8. National ID/Passport of Shareholders/Ultimate Beneficiary Owners/Directors/Authorised Person.

  9. Board Resolution to appoint Authorised Signatory and Platform User (Board Resolution template attached).

  10. License to conduct their business (if applicable).


The list of documents above may be non-exhaustive, the full list of required documents will be requested during your verification process. Below are the stages of Hata's business verification process.


Business Type (1/7)

In the first stage (Business Type), we will start by acquiring some basic information such as Country of Incorporation, Primary Country of Business Operation and Business Type.





Business Details (2/7)



In the second stage (Business Details), Hata will collect more information about your business such as your Legal Business Name, Corporate Registration Number, Nature of Business, etc. 



Business Representative (3/7) 




In the third stage (Business Representative), please input the details of someone with significant representative control and management in your business. Examples of these types of individuals may be C-Level members or Directors of your company.


Business Owners (4/7)



In the fourth stage (Business Owners), Hata will be collecting information on individuals that have significant ownership of your business (25% or more). Please add all individuals who own 25% or more of your business. 


Source Declaration (5/7)



In the fifth stage (Source Declaration), you will be required to declare the origin of your:
a. Source of Capital

b. Source of Wealth

c. Source of Funds


Please select the source and upload relevant documents where Hata shall review your documents.

 

Supporting Documentation (6/7)



In the sixth stage (Supporting Documentation), you will be required to upload supporting documentation that will support your account application process. These include:

a. Certificate of Incorporation;

b. Register of Directors;

c. Register of Members or Shareholders;

d. Particulars of Registered Business Address;

e. Board Resolution; and

f. Any supplementary documents.


Please download a template of the Board Resolution and fill in the document accordingly. 


Review and Finish Up (7/7)



In the final stage, review all your uploaded documents and information, click [Done], and you’ve completed the process of registering for your Hata Business Account!



Please note that it may take up to 1 to 2 weeks (or more) for Hata to approve your Hata Business Account.

When your account has been approved, you will be notified via email.
