What are the fees for trading on the Hata Exchange?

Modified on Wed, 8 May at 2:02 PM

Hata Exchange employs a fee system for customers engaging in trades, categorized as either makers or takers. To comprehend the fees related to trading on this platform, it is essential to grasp the concept of limit orders and the distinction between maker and taker orders.

The fee you incur depends on your trading volume from the previous 30 days, excluding the current day. Our system calculates your total trade volume for the past 30 days every day at midnight, 00h00 GMT.

Your total 30-day trade volume, and your current fee bracket, is shown on the My Orders screen.

How does it work?

Let’s use a person named Jenny as an example to work with.

Jenny is based in Malaysia and trades BTC/MYR. Her total trading volume for the past 30 days adds up to RM2 million. This puts her in Tier 6, so her fees look like this:

TierTrading VolumeTaker feeMaker fee
6RM 2 million0.20%0.00%
7RM 3 million0.18%0.00%

If she chooses to execute taker orders, which get fulfilled immediately, she will incur a fee of 0.20%. On the other hand, if she submits maker orders, which remain pending in the order book, she will be charged a fee of 0.00%.

Now, let's say Jenny conducts an additional RM1 million worth of trades. At midnight, the system recalculates her total trading volume for the past 30 days, and it now stands at RM3 million. Consequently, starting tomorrow, Jenny will be promoted to Tier 7, resulting in the following fee structure:

TierTrading VolumeTaker feeMaker fee
6RM 2 million0.20%0.00%
7RM 3 million0.18%0.00%

After the recent changes, if she opts for taker orders that get executed instantly, she will be subject to a fee of 0.18%. However, if she places maker orders that remain pending in the order book and execute later, she will be exempt from paying any fees.

Jenny's 30-day trade volume will be reevaluated at midnight.
